Regional Manufacturing Tooling Engineer (Engineering)
What you will do
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering, the role will be responsible for developing, managing design, prove out and defining the maintenance of Battery Manufacturing Tooling for the manufacturing sites. You will support plant operations by designing and innovating the battery manufacturing tooling to enable the region to meet the mid- and long-term safety, quality, and cost KPI targets, while also assisting to support new product development projects.
How you will do it
Provide tooling support for developing, managing design, proving out, and defining maintenance of Battery Manufacturing Tooling.
Collaborate with cross-functional groups to review new product designs and identify required tooling designs for successful production.
Participate in new product launch meetings to provide input and complete assigned deliverables at each phase.
Develop Assembly area Tool Files using Enterprise SAP system, submit Engineering Changes for process specifications, and tooling changes.
Recommend and draft new tooling policies and procedures to enhance manufacturing process capability and sustainability.
Lead manufacturing engineering projects involving process specifications, supplier management, purchase, qualification of manufacturing tooling, and project management.
Provide technical expertise and leadership to resolve production line tooling problems, share best practices, and drive process improvements.
Mentor and develop new engineers within the plants for fundamental understanding of tooling maintenance and process control.
What we look for
Required
Bachelor's or higher in a related discipline or equivalent years of experience.
Minimum 5 years' Manufacturing Engineering w/ Project Management,
Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab and other related programs.
Travel to various battery manufacturing assembly plants throughout the US is expected and global travel may be required. Travel may be 30-40% at times during peak project implementation phases.
Preferred
Previous Lead Acid Battery Manufacturing Tooling, Equipment & Process Experience.
Experience with SAP.
Experience with SolidWorks FEA Simulation.
