Safe Harbor Vineyard Haven is Martha's Vineyards premier full service waterfront marina facility. Located on the pristine and well protected waters of Lagoon Pond, we offer 50 wet slips, 100 valet racks and 35 moorings seasonally. Offering a true concierge level valet rack program, our staff handle the needs of our boaters daily, from washing and waxing, to pre-trip provisioning and post-trip clean up. Our team is here to ensure our members experience a truly exceptional day on the water.
The Dockhand is responsible for assisting the marina team in order to serve marina customers and guests by performing a variety of tasks including but not limited to general operation of the docks and assisting boaters. The Dockhand must work to maintain a safe and clean environment throughout the harbor and marina facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide SHM members with the best experience possible
Greet all customers in a manner that expresses a kind, courteous and professional character
Help orient members and guests to the marina, facilities, and answer other commonly asked questions
Assist customers with general boating needs
Maintain and clean restrooms, docks, walkways, grounds and other areas designated by management
Ensure docks and equipment are operational at all times
Comply with OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, and adhere to all site rules and expectations
Availability to work overtime when required
Ability to work weekends and holidays
Other duties as assigned by Manager
Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training
Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area
Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately
Technical and Physical Requirements
Ability to work safely around the water
Must be able to swim
Ability to lift 30 pounds
Basic boat handling skills preferred
Previous marina experience preferred
Previous customer service experience preferred
