Arcadis is currently searching for a Senior Plumbing/ Fire Protection Engineerspecializing in plumbing and fire protection with 12+ years' experience to join our Water - Building Design Services team out of our White Plains, NY office, or surrounding tri-state area with hybrid working environment.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be involved in a variety of Plumbing and Fire Protection design projects, with support from a strong nationally recognized technical staff at one of the best-qualified consulting firms around the world. They will utilize their expertise and technical knowledge to not only lead projects, but also manage clients and direct the development of design & construction projects, and participate on a variety of project pursuits within this market.
Role accountabilities:
As a Senior Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer you will provide plumbing and fire protection design and construction services for municipal and industrial water / wastewater facilities to a diverse client base in the Northeast and across the U.S. You will lead a team of junior engineers and design/drafters on multiple projects simultaneously and utilize technical knowledge and experience to develop the teams overall capabilities. You will also be held accountable as Project and/or Task Manager for the planning, design, and construction of plumbing and fire protection systems, meeting established budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment for project/task scope.
Additionally, you will work directly with clients to determine needs and provide solutions to their presenting concerns. Coordinating execution of projects with other disciplines and/or the Senior Project Manager or Program Manager will be required. You will develop design projects from inception to completion and prepare conformed construction packages for the engineering and construction of mechanical systems for clients inclusive of performing domestic hot and cold water stormwater, natural gas, and sanitary systems calculations including sump pump, and ejector calculations; and performing fire protection hydraulic calculations using HASS software to provide fire pump design and calculations when required.
Lastly, you will prepare packages for the procurement of equipment, and provide support for construction, commissioning, and start-up projects as needed. Creating and managing cost estimates and project schedules, and maintaining responsibility for completing tasks within budget and on schedule will be crucial to your role.

We are seeking someone with 12 years' experience in Plumbing and Fire Protection detailed design. A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or related field of study is required for this role, as well as a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
You will need to demonstrate strong technical and leadership experience leading a team of 3 or more individuals, coordinating and managing task and/or project work as a Project or Senior Mechanical Engineer. You will need to demonstrate client management and relationship building skills including preparation and development of proposals, presentations, participation in client interviews, managing client expectations, etc.
We are also seeking someone who has experience approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates. AutoCAD and Revit knowledge is important, with the ability to communicate design strategies to a drafting department to create construction documents. You must also have a broad understanding of both plumbing, and fire protection systems and their applications, as well as be familiar with construction concepts and coordination with other trades.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $122,000- $217,500. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
