Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced systems engineer to support one of our primary programs working with the U.S. Government to understand and define requirements for our software staff. In this position, you will be at the forefront of developing the systems that keep our nation safe and work in space emerging technology. This position will work with our team on adapting our architecture to the program requirements, creating a testing approach, and interacting across our program teams to ensure clear understanding during the software development cycle. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to help transition the program from the development phase to operations.
The team is primarily based in Ypsilanti, Michigan. This work requires candidates to be a U.S. citizen holding a TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly Clearance.
Responsibilities:
Provide systems engineering and enterprise architecture support to USG customers
Work with customers to improve their architecture and engineering workflows and processes with the identification or design of processes and tools
Responsible for articulating and capturing the architecture, system requirements, system design, and testing approach
Investigate and capture "As Is" architecture or workflows; identify "To Be" states; and make recommendation on transition from "As Is" to "To Be"
Develop standard and repeatable processes, as appropriate, to support architecture, engineering, development, and integration
Support engineering review boards
Interact with the customer and relay communications to program team
Communicate with customer in formal presentations and deliverables (including CDRLs)
Required Qualifications:
U.S. citizenship with a current/active TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly U.S. Government Security Clearance
Work full-time on-site
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. In lieu of a degree, four years of experience may be substituted
Familiarity with a Requirements Tool
Scrum/Agile Development knowledge and experience with Jira
Experience performing all/most aspects of the system engineering (requirements analysis, interface control documentation, ConOps development, use case development, data flows and developing test plans.)
Familiarity with CDRLs and ability to develop and review documents for formal delivery
Ability to definitize requirements and communicate requirements to develop teams
Experience in end-to-end testing
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiar with Enterprise Architecture concepts, System Engineering Principles as depicted in the System V, and MBSE in a model
Knowledge of signal processing
Worked on a team using Agile or SAFe development processes
