ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) has active research programs in basic, translational, and clinical sciences. The MCOM Office of Research supports faculty and students with their research endeavors by providing research administrative support. This office reports to the Vice Dean of Research and is part of the MCOM Dean's Office
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Unit Research Administrator (URA) will be tasked to provide both pre-and-post award research administration support. It is expected that the URA will coordinate some complex research proposals and monitor some complex research awards within MCOM and TCOP. In addition, the URA will assistant TCOP and MCOM leadership in reviewing some TCOP & MCOM research proposals and will also provide support to the TCOP Dean's Office. Lastly, the URA will be tasked to provide accurate research metrics regarding TCOP and MCOM research awards, proposals and publications to the Dean's offices on a regular basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pre-Award: Assist faculty and students with the pre-award process. Duties will include identifying funding opportunities, assisting in preparing grant applications, developing grant budgets, coordinating subcontracts, ensuring adherence to all USF and sponsor guidelines and etc. Furthermore, this position will coordinate complex research proposals.
Post-Award: Assist with post-award research administration needs. Duties will include making sure accounts are setup correctly, reviewing and interpreting financial reports, preparing research reports and monitoring grants and contracts for compliance throughout their life cycle. . Lastly, this position will troubleshoot complex issues and assist departments and faculty with these issues.
Review Proposals: Assist TCOP & MCOM leaders in reviewing research proposals.
Reporting: This position will assist in tracking and reporting TCOP & MCOM awards, proposals, and publications.
Research Day: This position will assist in planning USF Health's annual Research Day.
Supervision, Training, and Governance: This position will provide leadership in the office by training, and coaching staff members.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and 1 year of professional administrative experience; or a Master's degree. Progressively responsible related experience may substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.
PREFERRED:
Preferred: Position requires 3 years of work experience in research administration. Background in clinical trial finances preferred.
