POSITION SUMMARY:
This position performs property maintenance and improvement work on commercial and agricultural properties. The position also conducts habitat enhancement work along natural streams and channels, such as Putah Creek. Common maintenance tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
Mechanical and chemical control of weeds
Installation and maintenance of plants
Fence installation and repair
Removal and disposal of litter and debris
Routine maintenance of vehicles and small equipment.
This position will not exceed 1000 hours in a fiscal year.
EMPLOYMENT DURATION: ASAP - December 2025 (flexible, depending on availability).

DEFINITION
Under general supervision, independently performs maintenance work on commercial properties, agricultural properties, and water conveyance facilities, including natural streams and channels.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Direct supervision is provided by the Supervising Water Resources Specialist. General supervision is provided by higher level positions. No supervision is exercised over others.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
This is a seasonal position, limited to 1,000 hours per fiscal year (July - June).

Logistical planning and preparation to implement field work.
Performs or arranges for maintenance and repair of equipment.
Conducts field inspections, investigations, monitoring and data gathering.
Repair, replace, remove, maintain, and install fencing, gates, riprap, flap gates, signs and markers.
Installs and maintains plants.
Performs mechanical and chemical abatement of nuisance vegetation.
Performs, litter, trash and debris removal/disposal.
Drives vehicles used to transport materials, tools, and equipment as required.
Assists staff personnel with projects.
