Behavioral Health Scheduler & Survey Liaison (Finance)
Nemours is seeking a Behavioral Health Scheduler & Survey Liaison.
Primary Functions:
Accurate and proficient scheduling of appointments for all patients for the Department of Behavioral Health.
Acts as a liaison between referring doctors, hospitals, insurance companies as well as patients and parents.
Acts as the primary Behavioral Health team resource for data required for the US News & World Report (USNWR) Survey, a nationally-recognized healthcare ranking survey. Tracks the data needed for the survey and identifies ways for the department to positively impact targeted metrics.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for collection of accurate patient demographics and insurance information; handling incoming calls in a timely and expeditious manner; scheduling appointments for the Behavioral Health Department.
Take patient referrals by phone, electronically, walk down, or mail.
Enter information in referral log and adhere to response time guidelines.
Communicates all appointment related prep information to families directly during the scheduling process.
Replies to all voicemail messages within a timely manner during normal operating hours.
Responsible for working with the authorization team to ensure pre-certifications are obtained for assigned clinic patients prior to patient arrival for the appointment/visit.
Communicate with the patient/parent and provider regarding unattainable pre-certifications or the need for additional information needed to obtain pre-certification.
Provide coordination of care to ensure that the patient has a follow-up plan post discharge for the identified behavioral health concern.
Schedule or offer follow-up appointments with a licensed behavioral health provider either within Nemours or the community at the time of hospital discharge or treatment in the emergency department.
Provide a discharge summary and a list of psychiatric medications to the patient's family, licensed behavioral health provider and their primary care provider within Nemours or the community at the time of hospital discharge.
Make post-discharge follow up calls for discharged patients to determine if they have followed through with discharge recommendations and have seen their new licensed behavioral health care provider or have re-established care with their current behavioral health care provider.
Communicate with the primary care provider at time of discharge if the patient presented as a potential danger to self.
Act as the primary liaison for the Behavioral Health USNWR Survey. This includes tracking data throughout the year, participating in regular meetings with the Nemours USNWR Survey Team, completing the survey yearly and actively moving targeted metrics to ensure the maximum points possible are received.
Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee's supervisor.
Associate's degree required; years of experience in a healthcare setting will be considered in lieu of degree at manager's discretion
Minimum of 1 year of experience in an administrative role in a healthcare setting. Experience scheduling patients is preferred.
