Risk Program Oversight Manager
Summary:
Responsible for managing and enhancing enterprise risk management programs to ensure that Northern Trust's risk programs and policies adhere to established risk management frameworks, comply with applicable regulations and standards, and are effectively implemented to mitigate risks to Northern Trust.
Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and manage risk management programs, ensuring alignment with established risk appetites and strategic goals.
• Develop and maintain risk policies and procedures to support enterprise risk
management efforts.
• Conduct routine and ongoing risk assessments to identify potential risks, test the adequacy of the risk control environment, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Monitor key risk indicators and performance metrics to identify emerging risks.
• Conduct ad-hoc targeted risk assessments to assess impacts of emerging risks.
• Proactively open Issues to enhance the control environment and hold Business Units accountable to remediating any identified Issues.
• Advise on the design and implementation of new or enhanced risk controls.
• Develop risk training and awareness programs for internal employees and external clients.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to provide guidance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Stay current on industry trends and collaborate with peers in the industry.
• Lead and/or participate in risk-related projects and initiatives to improve the
organization's fraud risk management capabilities.
Requirements:
• 5+ years of program or risk management experience in a financial institution or related industry.
• Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Innovative mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Strong ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets and metrics.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with other business units.
• Ability to exercise good judgment to make timely decisions, while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment.
Salary Range:
$137,400 - 240,400 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
