PGIM Private Capital ("PPC") is a premier institutional investor in the energy sector, with a portfolio in excess of $9 billion of energy assets and companies across the energy value chain in North America and internationally. Investment activities span upstream oil and gas production, energy infrastructure involving transportation, storage and delivery as well as downstream included regulated distribution activities. We invest across the capital structure, including senior debt, project financing, mezzanine debt and structured equity.
What You Can Expect:
As an Investment Analyst on the Energy team, you will work on a dedicated deal team responsible for marketing, deal structuring, investment underwriting, and portfolio management. You will be exposed to a range of investments in both privately held and publicly traded companies. You will develop a wide range of skills including underwriting senior debt, subordinated debt, and structured equity investments. Responsibilities:
Conducting industry and company research
Constructing investment memorandums to analyze and recommend prospective senior debt, project financing, mezzanine debt, and structured equity investments
Building dynamic financial models
Monitoring existing investments, including monitoring company financial statements and writing investment review documents
Communicating with portfolio companies
Preparing marketing materials
Participating in special, ad-hoc projects designed to benefit the Energy group and PPC more broadly
What you will bring:
Bachelor's degree or enrolled in an accredited bachelor's program or 5th year master's program graduating between December 2024 and May 2025; Coursework in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is preferred
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Strong analytical writing, interpersonal, and communication skills
Strong passion for investing

What will set you apart:
1-2 years of experience in investment banking, private credit, corporate credit analysis, or Energy corporate finance experience is a plus.
Prior experience and/or familiarity with the Energy sector (oil & gas exploration and production, midstream, downstream, etc.).
Participation in the Chartered Financial Analysts® (CFA) program
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and changing priorities.
Independent problem-solving skills.
