Unit Supervisor - Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit - Lawrenceville, GA. (Personal Services)
View Point Healths Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit program (Lawrenceville, GA) provides psychiatric crisis intervention and stabilization services toAdults. The Adult CSU operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff. Develops, coordinates, and implements the instruction or training of clients and/or students in a specific area of assignment as part of a program that includes an organized agenda of practical and workforce readiness instruction.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for scheduling and assignment of floor staff to meet ratio based on acuity and census. Attends treatment team to offer support and plan staff adjustments for milieu. Complete Daily Pulse Sheet and forward to Director. Attends rounds change at 3:00pm Monitor, track, and provide semi-annual as well as annual performance reviews. Document and implement disciplinary action(s) according to policies and standards. Responsible for New Hire Orientation and monitoring compliance and quality standards as part of their annual performance measurement/evaluation as well as documenting and addressing disciplinary actions. Provide positive job coaching to staff as needed. Monitor and document employee conduct. Attend and assist with treatment team to manage flow and balance- of admission and discharges, implementation of clinical intervention (1:1. LOS, AWOL, review of CIRs). Audit charts to accuracy and adherence for Carelogic notes for staff. Compile results for medical directors meeting as well as give feedback/coaching to staff as well as place in staff file for performance measurements. Works collaboratively with shift leads on disciplinary interventions, scheduling needs, DBT, CIR, and customer service approach through program development, training, and implementation with staff. Ensures direct care are familiar with DBT skills and how to implement these with Acute Groups as well as how to document group notes. Ensure staff are familiar with the CIR process. Monitors, tracks, and compiles facility call out report for the month as well as forwards results to Director. Responsible for interviewing and hiring of new employees. Provide clinical support to clinical lead and clinical staff as needed. Assist with coverage on-call for one week per month as part of the leadership team. Assist with responding to family complaints and proactively intervening to prevent complaints. Responsible for providing job coaching, training as well as semiannual and annual performance reviews for unit leads. Participate in leadership team meetings and projects. Facilitate month BIS lead meetings and direct care disciplinary meetings. Provide backup coverage to the floor or groups as needed. Responds to emergency situations and participates as appropriate. Review critical incident reports completed during shifts. Ensures DBT programming is implemented. Assist coverage for the clinical DBT groups if needed. Orders and assures direct care/clinical activities have necessary materials. Assist floor staff with covering breaks as needed. Oversees and manages shift leads. Assist nurse manager as needed. Review and balance staff PTO to ensure adequate floor coverage and updates ESS. Provide on call coverage for unity problems. Provides backup coverage to Facilities Manager. Oversees/help coordinator transportation to shelters in the area for clients. Assists with DBHDD investigations. Attend weekly leadership meetings. Help facilitate quarterly unit meetings. Assist in coordinating unit events for holidays, all festivals, etc. Attend monthly PIC meetings. Assist with coordinating positive activities on the milieu. Follows up with direct care and yellow cards, and customer service surveys for CQI. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience in assignment OR associate degree from an accredited college or university OR Vocational/Technical degree in area of assignment from an accredited college AND Three years of experience in assignment OR One year of experience required at the lower-level Practical Instructor 3 (EDT012) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least six months of experience in a related field Experience working with adults in an inpatient facility. Experience and/or knowledge of DBT is preferred. Experience of at least one year working with Dual Diagnosed (Substance Abuse/Mental Health) and or residential setting Interventions, Diagnosing, Treatment Plans Experience with Care Logic or other EMR Is comfortable and proficient with collaborative & concurrent documentation. Experience in trauma-informed care, or trauma related interventions and skills
Requirements/Competencies:
Must be able to lift 20 pounds.Requires long periods of sitting/standing.Must have valid Georgia drivers license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.Other duties as assigned.
