Information Security Analyst (IS) (Information Technology)

Base pay: $35.00-$45.36
JOB SUMMARY
The Information Security Analyst will handle monitoring security systems, triaging alerts, and working on security projects as part of our ongoing commitment to securing our digital environment. This role requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with occasional interactions with end users to provide support and guidance.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor and respond to security alerts from various tools, including Office 365 Security Center, Cisco SecureX, and SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, AlienVault, Darktrace).
Analyze, document, and escalate security incidents to senior team members as needed.
Track and manage security events through a ticketing system, ensuring timely updates and proper documentation of actions taken.
Incident Investigation and Response:
Assist in the investigation of potential security breaches or vulnerabilities, including phishing attempts, malware infections, and unauthorized access events.
Coordinate with the senior analysts and IT staff to contain and resolve incidents.
Maintain a detailed log of incidents, follow escalation protocols, and contribute to incident post-mortem analysis.
Management of: Office 365 Security, Cisco Network Security, and SIEM
Assist in running vulnerability scans and interpreting results to assess potential security risks.
User Interaction which may include Security Awareness Training, Policy Adherence and Enforcement
Collaborative Projects and/or Research and Development

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Basic knowledge of network and system security principles.
Ability to analyze and prioritize security events based on risk.
Familiarity with Office 365 security tools, Cisco network security systems, and SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, AlienVault).
Knowledge of Microsoft 365 services and applications, and servers such as Windows, File, Exchange, SQL, IIS, DHCP, and DNS.
Knowledge of virtualization such as Hyper-V or VMWare and related technology (SAN, hybrid, HCI).
Knowledge of other Microsoft systems such as System Center, Active Directory, ADFS, Teams, SharePoint, Azure, Group Policy, and Powershell.
Knowledge of Cisco or other network systems, protocols, and security.
Knowledge of other systems such as VoIP communications, web conferencing, backup / disaster recovery, access control, video security, or others as assigned.
Ability to provide or assist with infrastructure support (e.g. installation, configuration, backup, upgrade, integration, authentication) of applications for departments such as Finance, HR, or others as assigned.
Knowledge of current technology and the industry to meet current and future organizational needs.
Good analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively.
Ability to assist and advise other IT Services staff for problem escalation and training purposes.
Ability to create, read, interpret, and implement technical procedures.
Effective use of communication skills with technical and non-technical staff.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in documenting incidents and security procedures.
Ability to work independently on tasks while also contributing effectively to team projects.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Associates' degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field or an equivalent amount of education and experience.
3 years of experience working in an information technology field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Certifications, such as, CompTIA Server+, Cisco CyberOps Associate, or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are a plus
Valid Driver's License.
