The Senior Audit Analyst supports the preparation and reporting of corporate tax provisions and filings in compliance with GAAP, SSAP 101, and tax regulations, while assisting with audits, tax planning, and ensuring overall tax compliance.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with GAAP provision, data gathering, reporting, and disclosures
· Assist with SSAP 101 provision, data gathering, reporting, and disclosures
· Support the GAAP and STAT tax accounting process
· Assist with the preparation of FEDERAL, STATE, and LOCAL Corporate Tax Returns, quarterly Estimates, and annual Extensions
· Assist with tax planning initiatives and special projects
· Liaise with External Auditors to provide support
· Support IRS and STATE audit responses
· Maintain technical proficiency through approved continuing education courses
· Ensure Tax Compliance
· Assist the Director of Tax and the Tax Managers with tax duties as well as other tasks performed within the Department
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (MS in Taxation is a plus)
· CPA or pursuing a CPA is a plus
· 4+ Years Experience in BIG 4 Public Accounting or Corporate Tax Department
· Strong Experience with Provisions is required
· Strong Experience with STATE and LOCAL INCOME TAX is highly preferred
· Experience applying principles of ASC 740, 740-10 and controls
· Experience with OneSource Income Tax and Provision and/or other tax related software
· Experience with SAGE FIXED ASSET SOFTWARE and/or other tax related software
· Understanding of GAAP and STATUTORY TAX Accounting guidelines and provisions
· Firm working knowledge of tax accounting as well as general accounting concepts, practices, procedures and the ability to apply such knowledge in varied situations
· Ability to organize, self-prioritize, and be a self-starter in a dynamic, extremely fast-paced environment with demanding internal and external deadlines. This role often requires individual to work in a team environment, but also able to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision
· Strong EXCEL skills and the ability to create and or modify complex formulas and proficiency with all other Microsoft Office Programs
· Possess a results-driven work ethic with a willingness to help wherever needed
Independence has implemented a “Hybrid” model which consists of Associates working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the “Hybrid” model. While associates may work remotely on our designated remote days, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania.
