HR Intern (Administrative)

Where we are located: Our facility is in Adrian, Michigan. This area is a great location for commuters and residents of the Ann Arbor / Toledo areas. Within a 30-45-minute commute are opportunities to live in the heart of a vibrant city or live in a suburb with all the amenities. We also have manufacturing facilities located in Kentucky (Hopkinsville), Indiana (Shelbyville), and Mexico (Monterrey).
What the opportunity entails:
The HR Intern will play a key role in supporting various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, training, and compliance. This position requires a strong understanding of HR practices and a commitment to creating a positive workplace culture. Key responsibilities may include:
Assist in the recruitment and onboarding processes, with things such as the development of job descriptions, preparing orientation materials and conducting stay interviews. Maintain and update employee records in the HR database with accuracy and confidentiality. Assist in the development of the annual training program, including communication, budgeting and record keeping. Assist in implementing employee recognition programs to enhance motivation and engagement. Contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures. Conduct research on HR best practices and assist in implementing new initiatives. Generate reports and analytics on HR metrics, such as turnover rates and employee engagement.
Support HR team in daily administrative tasks and projects as needed.Maintain open communication and positive working relationship with coworkers.Perform other duties/projects as assigned.
What a candidate must have to be qualified for the role:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn. Ability to prioritize tasks and efficiently manage time. Ability to develop, maintain, and promote strong internal and external relationships.
