GENERAL CLERK III (Finance)
RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Responsible for following specific procedures in completing several repetitive clerical tasks performed in a prescribed or slightly varied sequence, such as reviewing invoices and statements verifying information, ensuring sufficient funds have been obligated, analysis and reconciliation of computer printouts with operating unit reports, coding and filing documents, posting to individual accounts, opening mail, and calculating and posting charges to departmental accounts. The clerk needs to be able to independently choose the proper procedure for each task.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Maintain and monitor several customer databases to assure reporting information is submitted complete and timely.
2. Provide excellent customer service skills in answering questions, communicating on departmental services and functions. Notifies RTC Great Lakes Uniform Liaison Officer and Recruit Division Commanders for critical items (IOUs) pick up prior to recruits graduation. 20%
3. Coordinates and maintains records. 20%
4. Responsible for preparing and submitting Daily, IOU and Workload Reports. 30%
5. Prepares division Scantron sheets day before the scheduled issue. 15%
6. Ensures all transaction documents are posted and updated in CETARS and IRM daily. 15%
7. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. High school graduate or equivalent with additional courses of study in PC technology or technical school certificate.
2. Two years related work experience.
3. Must be a US Citizen, as defined by US Navy security guidelines
4. Required to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) within 90 days of date of hire, pursuant to US Navy security guidelines. Inability to obtain CAC card may result in removal and/or termination from position.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
1. Considerable knowledge of Internet practices and policies.
2. Knowledge of common office practices and procedures.

3. Requirements include proficiency within varied functions of the Microsoft Windows Environment, most specifically Word (intermediate/advanced level) and Excel intermediate/ advanced level).
4. Accurate and efficient typing skills
5. Knowledge of Navy based computer programs is a plus.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:
1. Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time.
2. Repetitive use of hands is required in the form of fine manipulations while using a computer keyboard.
3. Must be able to communicate in verbal and written form.
4. Vision is required to transfer written information into electronic data bases. Prolonged periods of visual concentration required.
