Payments Supervisor (Finance)

SUMMARY

Manage all functions and issues related to posting of payments, adjustments, correspondence, recoupments, and refunds as well as trend and report issues related payments, denials, profile issues, and refunds. Manage assigned payment staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

• Supervise all insurance and private payer payments and adjustments, while reviewing proper posting procedures.
• Supervise scanning and indexing of payments to ensure accurate and timely processing.
• Supervise deposit reconciliation, file imports, electronic lockbox payments, bank correspondence.
• Assist with establishment and implementation of Electronic Remittance Advice and Electronic Fund Transfer when possible
• Resolving unapplied and line-item credit balances.
• Maintaining daily, weekly, monthly reporting of deposits and balance batches daily and ensure postings in all billing systems balance to finance at month end.
• Training staff to post insurance and personal payments via credit card, mailed statements, etc.
• Department supervision including staff development, interviewing, hiring, disciplining, terminating, payroll entry, evaluating performance, managing work schedules including PTO, ordering supplies.
• Department supervision included productivity tracking, performance management, and development of employees as servant leaders.
• Responsible for maintaining a positive team culture with a large focus on employee engagement and resulting efficiencies
• Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.
