Program Manager I- Events, Management, Communications (Finance)
1. Plans and develops procedures for administering a small or medium-sized department or program.
2. Oversees program expenditures and ensures adherence to budget.
3. Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance.
4. May prepare or participate in the creation of abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.
5. Reviews reports of budgets and activities.
6. Prepares ad hoc reports as needed.
7. May administer grants and grant-related related communications, scholarships and other operations.
8. Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures.
9. May serve as property custodian for the department.
10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: No experience required.

The position will support the department in academic and operational areas that engage student, faculty, alumni and marketing/communications including, but not limited to:
• Events, Engagement and Programs - organize events, workshops, presentations, and programs from start to finish. Some examples may include career fairs, scholarships and awards, technical talks, alumni socials, information sessions, and undergraduate research programs; engage with student organizations, alumni and employers.
• Marketing and Communications - manages social media content creation, deployment, and engagement; interviews, writes, edits, and disseminates news releases and other articles to highlight faculty, student, and alumni research and achievements, and department events and programs; develop graphic designs for electronic and print media.
• Advising - assist with advising prospective and/or current students, maintain student files updated throughout their academic careers and makes changes to records as necessary, process paperwork, assist with enrollment/registration, and analyze degrees plans and transcripts.
• Other duties as assigned.
Preferred candidates will have experience or familiarity with graphic design software such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or InDesign; social media and related engagement; PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or other ERP system such as Ellucian Banner; ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others; demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and customer service skills; keen attention to detail; proficiency in the Microsoft 365 software.
