Monday - Friday, 2nd shift, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following is a list that describes the duties to be performed. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of assigned equipment on the processing line. Maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and of Company assets. Ensure each batch is mixed and processed without deviation. Closely monitor temperatures, processing time, ingredient types and amounts to ensure consistency and quality from batch-to-batch. Optimize production efficiencies by performing processing functions in a controlled time frame to ensure that the canning and packaging departments have the right product at the right time. Accurately mix and blend in accordance with Manufacturing Batch Records (MBRs). Perform adjustments to processing equipment to run varied types of products. Operate computer controls to monitor process flow status and automated processing equipment. Demonstrate proficiency of knowledge of process flow, receiving operations, equipment operations, destoners, blanchers, grinders, hydrovey systems, mix kettles, saut kettles, vegetable mixers and C.I.P. systems. Request product and materials to assure that the Business Unit goals and customer orders are achieved in a timely fashion. Complete assigned paperwork daily. Document all required operational checks. Properly date and sign all required charts, graphs, and paperwork. These checks are considered legal documents and are required by the FDA. Accurately complete all documentation associated with production and flavor changes. Maintain accurate records and logs as required. Perform proper sanitation, sterilization, equipment C.I.P. and proper cleanliness procedures of the workstation and processing system. Clean and sanitize machines to meet legal and quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized work area respecting GMP's. Assist the maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical and processing problems. Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks and corrective work orders, and work with other support personnel when operational problems occur. Provide data and information to support personnel, such as maintenance, to facilitate the effectiveness of their performance. Identify and correct equipment problems to maximize production efficiencies, and report potential equipment problems to maintenance Maintain accurate documentation of daily reports; forklift checklists, chemical usage logs, product spill logs; process time and temperatures, pressures, settings, batches, and deviations. Pre-stage ingredients for processing, including dividing ingredient batches into appropriate size lots (fractions). Properly weigh and label staged ingredients. Use scales and read/understand both English and Metric units (pounds and grams). Document lot numbers and quantities used plus properly label all fractions. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of assigned processing equipment. Maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and of Company assets. Responsible as replacement operator to cover shift during vacation time, personal time, or other time away from work following the crewing procedures. Responsible for notifying the Shift Manager if unable to report for work and during illness to specify date of return to work. Be an active participant in Business Unit team meetings and other Plant meetings by communicating timely and pertinent data when appropriate, and active involvement in analyzing, recommending, and implementing solutions to problems within the Business Unit and the Plant. Ensure a smooth shift change transition (i.e., communicate problems/issues regarding operating equipment, upcoming quantity/flavor changes, review quality inspections, etc.) Train new employees and co-workers. Comply with area Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Assurance Parameters (QAPs), Good Manufacturing Process (GMPs) Procedures, and ISO Standards. Be knowledgeable in all required Quality Assurance checks and in HACCP related items. Comply with all company safety procedures and guidelines and comply with all company guidelines and policies. Rotate positions with other Processing Team Members. Cross-train and achieve equipment operation certifications on all equipment within the Business Unit. Ensure that job operations maintain or improve product quality. Stop and correct job operation if product quality is affected negatively. Responsible for the pre-weighing of ingredients and the assembly of Mix Kettles to create batch recipes. Hoist and drop bulk bags of product to create a quality food product for consumers. Use chemicals to clean machinery and operate forklifts. Work daily overtime and weekends as required. Maintain OSHA Certified Forklift License. Demonstrate good attendance. Effectively read, write, speak and comprehend English.
