Senior Web Developer (Frontend Focus), AVP (Finance)
State Street Global Markets Research Technology team is seeking a skilled Senior Web Developer (Frontend Focus) to join the development of our modern, highly interactive web-based research platform. Our primary frontend framework is Angular and we are also open to leveraging other trending technologies for new initiatives on a need-to-have basis. The ideal candidate should be an expert in frontend development, have strong problem-solving skills, and be passionate about building scalable and user-friendly web applications.
What you will be responsible for
As Senior Web Developer, you will have the following key responsibilities
• Frontend Development: Develop and maintain modern web applications, primarily using Angular.
• Code Quality & Best Practices: Ensure high-quality, maintainable code with best practices in architecture, design, and development.
• Testing & Automation: Implement and maintain frontend unit tests and end-to-end (E2E) tests to ensure application reliability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with backend developers, UX/UI designers, and product owners to translate designs into fully functional applications.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Technology Exploration: Stay up to date with emerging frontend trends and frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js) and contribute to new project decisions.
What we value

• Proficiency in Angular (experience with React or Vue.js is a plus).
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience with RxJS, component-driven architecture, and state management.
• Familiarity with frontend build tools like npm, Webpack, and modern development workflows.
• Experience with UI libraries such as Semantic UI, Tailwind, and data visualization libraries like Highcharts and Echarts.
• Experience with frontend testing frameworks such as Jest, Playwright.
• Proficient in version control using Git.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in frontend web development.
• Experience in responsive design and web performance optimization.
• Experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
• Experience in UX design and a strong understanding of user-centered design principles is a plus.
• Experience in mobile app development (iOS and Android) is a plus.

Salary Range:
$90,000 - $142,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
