SUMMARY: Responsible for the operational and administrative leadership of the business development function.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Establishes goals and objectives for strategic alignment of business development initiatives with the company's mission, vision, values and goals. Serves as an expert on the company's product and services portfolio. Establishes relationships with potential clients and connects clients with appropriate sales personnel. Provides leadership and direction in policy and procedure development, enhancement and implementation as well as strategic planning, staffing and managing operating budgets and forecasting. Supervises employees, including executing performance management. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
EXPERIENCE: 10 years of 3PL account management experience, in a leadership capacity.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word.

Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to develop and implement a successful marketing plan/strategy. Ability to train and supervise employees. Ability to manage employee and client relationships to achieve specific goals for generating and maintaining sales of products and services. Ability to provide leadership and direction in programmatic, budgetary, and operational functions. Ability to strategically plan and serve as a catalyst for organizational change, cultivate a shared vision with others, and motivate others to transfer vision into action. Knowledge of contract negotiation and administration as well as the ability to execute contracts in compliance with corporate guidelines. Knowledge of and the ability to apply the principles and practices to strategically align tasks and people with organization goals and objectives.
JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
