Position Summary
To assist with the production of the highest quality native wildflower and grass seed.
To assist with the seed collection of production plots and leased property.
To assist with cleaning and processing seed to the highest possible standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Become knowledgeable and expert on the technical aspect of native seed production, harvesting and cleaning.
Seed Production Plots
Assist with the establishment of new plots
Maintain existing production plots
Produce High Quality Native Seed
General Field Labor
Planting
Maintenance
Weeding
Watering
Herbicide application
Seed Collection for Seed Production
Assist with the development of the seed collection schedule.
Collect from field plots, leased land and in wild as directed.
Seed Cleaning and Processing
Participate in seed cleaning, processing and packing
Miscellaneous Duties
To keep team functioning in an efficient and spirited fashion.
To assist other departments within the company as needed.
To help keep the plant building clean and organized
To maintain safe working conditions.
Work Environment
Regularly works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Working hours will not exceed 8 hours in a day and will not exceed part time capacity.
Physical Demands
Must be able to move objects up to 40 lbs. and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs. Ability to stand for long periods of time. This position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
