Research Assistant I (Neurology) - BRAINS Lab (Finance)
Translational brain injury laboratory is actively investigating the neuroimmune interactions underlying CNS aging, acute brain injury, and chronic neurodegeneration. Our research is aimed at identifying mechanisms of brain injury-induced immune senescence, with special emphasis on bidirectional brain-systemic interactions (e.g., the brain-bone marrow axis). We utilize experimental mouse models of TBI and stroke to assess functional outcomes, histopathology, expression profiling, and immunophenotype.
Applicant must be willing to learn other common lab techniques such as ELISA, Western Blot, Histology, Mouse behavioral testing, Neurological scoring, and Flow cytometry.
Applicant will assist lab members with their studies firstly, but may additionally undertake their own supervised independent study if desired.

Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds constantly and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
